Chip sales experience

B2B sales of Allwinner and HiSilicon SoCs and DDR memory

I handled B2B sales of Allwinner and HiSilicon main-control SoCs, along with DDR and other companion parts, for factories and solution houses building commercial displays, security, industrial control and automotive products.

Responsibilities

  • Account development: Starting with no existing accounts, I found leads through company databases, job boards, e-commerce platforms and company websites, and built relationships through calls, WeChat and site visits.
  • Technical sales: Explained chip specs, dev boards and use cases, and supported customers through selection, sampling and validation into pilot runs and volume production.
  • Cross-selling: Built on main-control chip demand to sell DDR and other companion parts.
  • Technical coordination: Worked with the vendor's FAEs and our R&D team to resolve customers' technical issues, relaying information and tracking progress.

Selected cases

  • Won an account that had not closed in years: persuaded the customer to replace their existing supplier and design in a new chip, and closed the deal.
  • A DDR order of about USD 300K, from quote to collection: I ran the full cycle: quote, negotiation, contract, order, delivery, invoicing and collection.
  • A custom board froze on site; a new batch shipped in a month: A customer's custom board froze on site under tight delivery pressure. I kept the customer informed, coordinated production planning, R&D, FAEs and manufacturing, and brought R&D and FAEs to the customer's site. A month later, a new batch of boards was delivered.
  • Overseas buyers: Met overseas buyers at our booth at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition).

Results

  • First company: about CNY 3M shipped by the customers I managed, with about CNY 800K per month over the final three months; 10+ customer projects taken through selection and sampling.
  • Second company: developed solution-house customers; one customer's DDR went into volume shipments.
